Managing Change

Friends,

A large part of harnessing your power is managing inevitable change. We’re facing an unprecedented amount of it in today’s climate. How is it going for you? Do you find it easy to manage or more challenging than usual?

Often, we don’t really take account of how we manage change – we just change. Given the magnitude of what we’re encountering, it might actually be helpful to understand what your tendencies are – your strengths and challenges. Knowing this will help you get a better sense of what you need and how to get it.

Do a little self-reflection. Does change come easy for you? Do you like it? Are you running into the change trying to figure out what will be different with great interest and excitement? Or, are you holding tight and waiting for the day things go back to how they were?

In a recent blog, I challenged you to help find ways to support each other. If you are scurrying ahead into the headwinds of change, consider how you can share your vision of the new to help those of us who are struggling to see the value in it. If you are waiting for the old to resume, look for some things that remain constant, like feelings. We still feel what we do for each other even if the expression of those feelings is different.

Regardless of how you feel about the continuum of change, get in touch with where you are, harness your power and help others around you to do the same.

Take care,

Dr. Lisa
